Penang With Zam
One of my good friend, Zam agreed to come to Penang with me for yet another food quest. We had a great time doing some tourist stuff among other things that include food. The murtabak from that Lebuh Campbell Hamediyah Cafe was really to die for. We went twice in two days. Then laksa from Gurney Drive hawker centre and also malay laksa near Teluk Bahang beach. We went up to Penang Hill too and the train ride up and down were filled with memories that I bet she won't forget.
Pictures say it all..

Caribbean Honeymoon(Finally) Getaway
Pictures on the way...
Finally I get to step my both two feet on Caribbean soil. The feeling was weird, felt like close to home. Being just few degrees above the equator, the plants are very similar to home. Cashew trees, swaying coconut palms, cocoa trees, shrubs by the roadside, flowers and all the creepy crawlies.. except volcano. We don't have volcano in Malaysia but here they even do drive-in-volcano. We can experience first hand what the gas smells like, the bubbles coming through the ground, last eruption was in 1877, we were hoping it won't erupt while we were there.
Life on St. Lucia island was superb, people are super friendly, the cool rastafarians always seem so 'happy' listening to reggae music all day and night, the food is fantastic! Creole food are very similar to Indian food which are spicy. I feel just like home. Weather was hot and humid, night was nice with calm breeze and rain on the last night we were there.Other days sun was shining all day. Sun is very strong, as you can imagine, close to the equator.Maximum sun protection is highly recommended. We had SPF45 just to be sure, quite a lot of tourist look like grilled lobster at the end of their holiday on the island.
Just the honeymoon that I've dreamed of having at the end of the day. No worries, no early wake up to do tours and sightseeing, just do what you feel like doing, or you can opt for NOT doing anything at all...just read your book by the sea and beach attendant comes and go with your drinks ALL DAY LONG....there's absolutely no hassles. Only one problem though..there's TOO MUCH FOOD! We indulge like pigs..and sweat it all in the sea for a swim and snorkeling...Food and snacks are constantly available and the only worry is that we were wondering if we could ever get into the pants we arrived in.
let the journey begin...

London Stopover
From Denmark, we continue our vacation to St. Lucia in the Caribbean via London. We spent a day and a half in London, doing some tourist stuff.Visit the London Eye, River Thames Cruise and sitting in a park. Talking about park, there's this one young guy was sitting on a bench looking at people around him. He was alone and guess what he did? Picking his nose!! Yuckss! Thats not bad till you hear this, not only he picking his nose openly...then he put his nose-picking finger into his mouth!! I was like.....whaaaaaa???!! I told Kalle but he missed the action and he looked at that guy too, I think he noticed us looking at him and he left walking about to the other part of the park, maybe trying to eat his booger again...ooohhh...what a behaviour!

Susanne & Gary Finally United
The day that all of us been waited finally arrived. Sue and Gary holy union in matrimony. The wedding was perfect, Sue looked so gorgeous in her white wedding gown. Beautiful gown. Started in a small church in a town called Vejle in Denmark with close friends and family. Kalle was Gary's bestman, but we didn't get to Billund Airport in Denmark late evening on 9th May at around 11.35pm. I was tired but excited, since it has been a long flying hours, 7.45minutes from Dubai to London Gatwick, 6 hours waiting in transit to get to Billund Airport, and 1hour an a half to Billund.20 hours since we woke up till check-in to Park Inn Hotel in Vejle. Wedding is in the next 15 hours at 3.30pm.
The wedding went smoothly and the party later was awesome! Everyone had a good time, dancing and eating and drinking except me..Can't really dance much, since I am waiting for the knee surgery..so I had to refrain myself from dancing but had a great time nevertheless.
Congratulations Sue and Gary! Hope your next page in life become your most happiness and colorful! Kalle and me were so happy that we were there and witness this beautiful wedding...

BEIJING
Been to Beijing few times, but never left the room, always online (free internet) . This time I decided to do some sightseeing, weather quite cold still, but I was equipped. We managed to gather colleagues from two separate flights to go and share the ride. The driver took us to the Mutianyu Great Wall, which is the steep one, and not the popular Badaling Great Wall. I forgot to ask because it's kinda early in the morning where we met at the lobby, so I thought it is an automatic drive to Badaling.Apparently not!
We got there, not so many people (of course, because of the hard work climbing the steps) and greeted by this old man in front of the cable car ride to the top with his huge *ss pipe and always smiling and shouting..hmmm I wonder what is he been smoking
Up we went for about 10 minutes, I was scared of height (hell, that was one scary ride) 200 feet down there was a toboggan ride, where we will slide down once we are up there. Well, you can choose to come down either by cable car(not really a car, more like a bench) or take toboggan ride down. That was fun! Few of my colleagues had an accident half way on the toboggan because of two chinamen in front of him made an emergency stop..resulting 2 or 3 of our people collided from the rear! To Mutassem: I hope your coccyx not broken.
Note for those who want to use a toilet there by the Wall: DON'T! if you can hold, hold it till you get back, where I came from, I'm quite use to the public toilet especially at R&R along North-South Highway from KL to Penang, but this one..the stank...OMG I had to rush out immediately vomiting, forget about taking a leak in the toilet, I can't even breathe!
That was the stinkiest toilet I've ever been. The moral of the story; empty your bladder and bowel before going.
Anyways, the hike was really challenging, I was running out of breath for a while but then get used to it, I knew I've got to pay the next day...But It was totally worth it! With good bunch of people, we even taking photos with whoever up there on the last stop of The Wall, where you can't go on anymore...I thought we can continue walking along The Wall, but apparently not..there are few places that visitors can go, the rest of The Wall are not for visitors.
So that's that..enjoy the pictures!
